Day 1
Public Speaking
Being a public speaker is not easy especially when your goal is to be a professional speaker. Public speaking requires speaking skills that include a couple of things such as know your language and master your ability to speak. In order to be a public speaker, you will need to know some tips you have to do:
1. Practice and prepare
Anxiety is a problem when you start speaking. The best way to overcome it is to prepare and prepare. When you prepare by knowing the topic you want to deliver, the message will flows in your brain easily. Don’t forget to take your time to look at your notes several times, but don’t be distracted by it because you cannot read the whole paper. Another thing you should remember is to tell yourself that everything is okay so you will not stress out.
Practice is a key. No one can speak in front of people without any practice. Every time you practice, you make a progress.
2. Know your audience
In order to deliver your information about a certain topic effectively, you need to consider for whom the message will be delivered. Choose your words depends on whom your audience and don’t forget about your level of information and organization patter.
3 Organize your material
When you start your speech, the whole first 30 seconds is an important time as you should grab their attention. You can start by giving quotes, motivation, story or etc.
4 Use humor to tell stories and use effective language
Humor is really important for you to give to your audience in order to not make them bored with your speech. You can give them some funny anecdotes in your presentation or give some funny story to make them laugh. You can use humor at the beginning of your speech, in the middle and at the end of it.
5. Don’t read unless you have to
When you prepare your material, you need to make a brief outline to make it easier for you in order not to read the text too much. Maintain your eye contact with the audience and keep the focus on yourself and the message you want to deliver.
6. Use your voice and hands effectively
Make your voice clear and play with your intonations such as make it higher and lower at some points when you deliver your message. You can also use nonverbal communication like playing with your hands to carry most of the information.
7. Use audiovisual aids wisely
The use of speaker and projector will attract your audience’s attention.
Leadership
Leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization. A leader is a person who is able to contribute his/her skills in something good and useful. When you lead people it means that you are able to communicate and persuade those people.
The function of leadership is to make a clear vision of teamwork and produce more leaders to work together. A leader is different from a boss. A leader prefers to work together with its member or people while boss intends to command other while it does nothing.
Leadership is important because without it an organization or company will get stuck without any changes happen. When there is a leader, the vision and mission of one's organizations or company will be clear and the skills of people around it will develop.
The use of Leadership:
1. Empower People
Empower people means helping them to develop more and think more. It is about how to move forward together to achieve the goal.
2. Inspire people
A leader can inspire people by giving an example of our achievement or the positive impact if one's goals achieved.
3. Shared Vision
Discussing and putting the vision or goals together with all the people in the organization or company.
4. Lead change
A leader should bring some changes to people by working together such as giving good commands.
Feedback
The 1st day of this seminar was about Public Speaking and Leadership. For me, it was very useful because my public speaking is not really good and I really want to improve it to be better. The tips and preparation that has been told in the seminar make me feel a lot of confidence with myself, especially after I practice more.
The leadership topic was another important topic for me. I join one community which I think really useful for me. The speaker told me a lot of thing on how to be a good leader and it motivates me to be a humble and lovable person to each other because that is what a leader is, to lead people to grow and develop better a human being.
Day 2
Entrepreneurship
The people who create business are called entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is the act of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit. When you want to be entrepreneurship, it means that you are about to start a new business to get some profit or money. There are two types of entrepreneurship for shopping business; online shop and offline shop.
1. Online Shopping
Online shopping is a person whereby costumers directly buy goods or services from a seller in real-time, without an immediate service over the internet. The consideration for online shop :
For Seller: the best price is cheaper
- · Location: the seller can post or promote the products everywhere in any social media to make it more efficient. After uploading the products, you can just wait for notification.
- · No employee: it will increase your profit because you don’t need any budget to pay someone.
- · Time: you can post your products mostly in anytime in your spare time without any limited time
Tips:
- · Give interesting and persuasive caption on your posts to attract buyer such as giving some discount
- · The tax inserts in delivery services, so the calculation of tax is very cheap.
For Costumer
- · Price (low price): price is the most important thing in the online shop. The cheaper the price, more people will be attracted.
- · Time (efficient): the best thing about an online shop is it can avoid the need for transportation and traffic jam. When you start shopping online, you save more time to shop than getting stuck in a traffic jam.
Tips:
If you do an online shop, don’t sell such as clothes without knowing the quality and size because it will affect your shop.
Advantages of Online Shop: Convenience of the online shop, no pressure shopping, online shop saves time, comparisons, availability of online shop, and save more money.
Disadvantages of Online Shop: Delay in delivery, lack of touch or feel of merchandise, lack of interaction with seller/buyer, lack of shopping experience, frauds can happen sometimes.
2. Offline Shop
What will you get from an offline shop:
- Good communication skill
It will help you to build your communication skill because you will have to face any kinds of costumes from their ages, their desires, and their personality.
- Improve your creativity
You will start looking at DIY creativity that catches your eyes and some people love handmade stuff more than the usual stuff.
- Collaboration
If you have some difficulties from making any products, you can start by making collaboration with someone.
- Time management
You will have to look at your schedule and later make your fix schedule to be able to run your shop. Make a business hour for your own shop.

There are some terms in any social media that you need to know and it will be a lot better when you can run your offline shop together with your online shop.

- Youtube
If you want to start the offline shop you can with a low budget, you can start from here:
- Start with your home: use any room that you don’t use
- Location does not matter
- Join any fair or festival
- Sharing your store
Feedback
For the people who have wanted to start a business but was confused about what and how to start, this seminar was really useful for because it helps on how to know where they should start and what kind of risks that might happen later. I believe that by knowing the risks, they can at least prepare and avoid it as much as they can. They can also choose what kind of business they want to start since both online and offline shops has advantages and disadvantages.
Day 3
Scholarship
There are 2 types of scholarships that mentioned, LPDP and AAS.
1. LPDP
- Motivation
When you decide you get a scholarship, the most important thing that you need to know is that you want to get it not for going abroad for holiday or taking pictures but for getting more knowledge and study. You need to remind yourself that you get this money for your study in order to make a better life for hundred people in your country, for making a better future to other people and to help others.
You need to know that the ones who get scholarship are the ones who have a vision on how to use the scholarship and where to use it.
- Interview
The interview is needed for you explain more what you have written in your application. It gives you chance to talk more about your vision and give more description about yourself for example, your personality.
- Leaderless group discussion
Everyone has a right to talk and give perception over something. In case of that, you need to understand that you cannot limit others’ perception or even getting angry about their perception because everyone has a right to give a thought.
Become a scholar is not about being a person who get a diploma or getting certificate. It is not about what people think about you and it is not about how better you are than other people. Being a scholar is about finding yourself and being useful to others. Finding yourself means finding your true color, finding your goals, and finding the way for you to be useful for other. When you are useful for others, you will be the one person who feels happy by helping others. If by become a scholar you cannot help others, it means that you are not worth for scholarship.
