ACEH-JAPAN COMMUNITY ART PROJECT

Aceh-Japan Community Art Project 2018 is an art exhibition held at the Banda Aceh Tsunami Museum. This activity was held for 10 days from 16-26 December 2018.
The exhibition was held with the intention of creating new relations between two different regions, namely Aceh and Japan.  By having this relationship, an activity will be born that can convey the memory of past disasters (Disaster Tourism), and will also get to know each other about the social community and history between the two. The exhibition also collaborated with several Acehnese communities, such as Aceh Doodle Art, Pesawat Kertas Aceh, Nirmala Orphanage, etc.

The activities held at the exhibition are different every day. On the day I visited, there was a competition held outside the Tsunami Museum. The competition was in the form of dance performances from community organizations in the Aceh region. The video below is one of the performances of the competition.
